Kytons has been part of the South Australian community since 1938. We pride ourselves on baking delicious, quality products – the kind you’d bake yourself if you had time. But being part of the SA community is more than just about the fabulous products we make.
Community fundraising
Kytons has been assisting community, sporting and school groups to raise vital funds since the mid 1980s through our lamington, Easter, Christmas and winter fundraising drives.
Buying local where we can
Kyton sources our ingredients and packaging in South Australia where we can and then within Australia before looking beyond our shores. Many of our boxes are made just down the road from Kytons bakehouse!
Caring for the environment
We have over 90kw of solar panels (and a battery) on our roof which has reduced our electricity usage by 70% since its installation. We have a giant green waste bin (nicknamed the “chook bin”) for any ingredients and products that are not edible as well as recycling bins for cardboard and boxes.
Food for those who need it
Kytons has a close relationship with Kickstart for Kids breakfast program, Foodbank and OzHarvest, ensuring that any leftover or unsaleable products go to organisations that put them in the hands of those who need it most.
Supporting local charities and organisations
Philanthropy is very important to Kytons owners Darren and Sharon. Through Kytons they support local charitable organisations across many sectors including homelessness support, Adelaide and Monarto Zoos, food rescue organisations as well as Variety the Children’s Charity and the Adelaide Fringe.
